​Mitochondrial myopathy is caused by abnormal mitochondrial function/metabolism. ​Organs that are most dependent on oxidative metabolism are most severely affected.
Age of Onset: ​7 -42 months of age
Sex Predisposition: Any sex of animal can be affected
Clinical Course:
​Clinical signs may progressively worsen
Clinical Signs:
Movement
Generalized weakness
Exercise-intolerance

Painful Reactions
Diffuse myalgia

Muscle Atrophy
Atrophy of the front and hind limbs

Other
​Brownish discoloration of urine​
Diffuse muscle
Suspected autosomal recessive inheritance of nonsense variant in the ACADVL gene
