Dural ossification occurs as formation of plaques of bone within the dura that can compress the adjacent spinal parenchyma.
Age of Onset: Older animals are most commonly affected
Sex Predisposition: Any sex of animal can be affected
Clinical Course:
​Variable- most commonly dogs are asymptomatic, however osseous of the dura metaplasia can be associated with signs of spinal cord abnormalities
Clinical Signs:
Movement
Ataxia
Difficulty lifting leg to urinate

Progressive weakness

Muscle Atrophy
Appendicular muscle atrophy
Spinal - cervical and lumbosacral
