Primary myopathies are a common cause of exercise intolerance in dogs. Central core myopathies result from a pathologic change in the central region of muscle fibers.
Age of Onset: Before 1 year of age
Sex Predisposition: Any sex of animal can be affected
Clinical Course:
​Clinical signs may worsen over the course of several months
Clinical Signs:
Posture and Appearance
Collapse into sternal recumbency
Kyphotic
Abnormal, extended tail carriage

Movement
Generalized weakness
Exercise-intolerance
General body tremor

Muscle Atrophy
Diffuse muscle atrophy
Diffuse muscle
Suspected autosomal recessive inheritance
