Neurenteric cysts (enterogenous or endodermal cysts) are benign congenital malformations resulting in cyst formation around the spinal cord or within the cranial vault.
Age of Onset: Any age of animal can be affected. Age of onset is dependent on progression and rate of growth of the cyst and resulting compression of the CNS parenchyma.
Sex Predisposition: Any sex of animal can be affected
Clinical Course:
​Clinical signs may worsen over time
Clinical Signs:
Posture and Appearance 
Decerebellate posture (opisthotonus and extension of all limbs)

Movement
Ataxia
Paresis to plegia
Episodic falling during excitement or increased activity
Wide excursions of the head and neck

Proprioception
Proprioceptive deficits
Postural reaction delayed with excitement

Cranial Nerves
*signs associated with cerebellopontine angle cyst:
-menace deficit
-cranial nerve signs

Special Reflexes (e.g. cutaneous trunci)
Reduced cutaneous trunci reflex

Painful Reactions
Moderate signs of pain on palpation of the vertebral column​
Spinal (intradural, extramedullary) or intracranial ​
