Myoclonus is a brief sudden jerk-like movement that occurs due to involuntary contraction of one or more muscles.
Age of Onset: Greater than 8 years of age
Sex Predisposition: Any sex of animal can be affected
Clinical Course:
​Myoclonic jerks occur sporadically and do not typically worsen in severity or frequency over time. Myoclonic movements persist during sleep.
Clinical Signs:
Movement
Head nodding
Jerking movement of the head (sometimes extending into the thoracic limbs or the whole body)
Regular, repeated, stereotypic depolarization (contractions) of a muscle or a muscle group

Cranial Nerves
Rapid eyelid blinking​
Diffuse or focal neuromuscular
