Hereditary polyneuropathy/neuropathy is an idiopathic degeneration of nerves often characterized by axonal degeneration and hypomyelination.
Age of Onset: 8-9 years of age
Sex Predisposition: Any sex of animal can be affected
Clinical Course:
​Clinical signs worsen over time, primarily affecting the branches of the sciatic nerve 
Clinical Signs:
Movement
Collapse
Hyporeflexia
Progressive paraparesis

Proprioception
Proprioceptive deficits

Spinal Reflexes
Decreased spinal reflexes
Decreased patellar reflex

Special Functions (e.g. respiration; urination)
Exercise intolerance

Muscle Atrophy
General muscle atrophy

Other
Abnormal vocalization
Hyperesthesia​
Peripheral nerve
Autosomal recessive inheritance
